Healing Spirit Plants has moved to become incorporated into the UC Gill Tract Community Farm, located at 1050 San Pablo Ave (corner of Buchanan St / Marin Ave) in Albany CA (just across from the Albany Police and fire station).
Our UC Gill Tract Community Farm is a collaborative agro-ecological project involving Our greater Northern East Bay Community and the University of California. We are a volunteer Stewardship based community farm, for the purposes of promoting food, medicinal and agro-ecological sovereignty through community based education, research and service.
Healing Spirit Plants has provided a 50′ diameter Medicinal Herb Garden consisting of over 250 varieties of medicinal herbs from traditions around the world. However, this garden is a mere “appetizer,” aspiring to galvanize Our community to demand the fuller 2 acre “Community-Centered Peace Medicinal Herb Garden” presented in this brochure.
We offer a Medicinal Herb Seminar Series on Sundays from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. These are community based seminars, bringing our community practitioners (those who know) together with community members (those who wish to know). We seek to facilitate a plant based resilient community; all visitors are welcome! Please see our Gill Tract Farm website for fuller details regarding a calendar of Our Medicinal Herb Seminars, Our activities, and Our farm. There is also a You tube video titled “Occupy the Farm,” which is a documentary of the founding of this community sovereignty project.
We hold a Farm Stand on Sundays at 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. All produce and medicinal herb plants are a donation based offering to the greater community. Plants of limited varieties are provided in 3″ pots only.
